The heart of village life has been said to be the Pub, the School, the Shop and the Church, not necessarily in that order!
 
We opened the village shop and Post Office a couple of years ago not only as a business, but also as a contribution to the community and to fulfil a need. Without the shop the Post Office would not survive and without the Post Office the shop would not survive, as numerous villages across lakeland can testify to.
 
We do our best to stock all the items local families have a habit of "running out of" and of course it goes without saying that the post office side of the business saves many pensioners, some who have difficulty in travelling, having to go to Greenodd or Ulverston for their weekly pension.
 
If you would like us to stock something that we don't already have, let us know and we'll do our best to get it. If you would like to order newspapers or magazines that we don't already stock then here again, if we can get it for you we will.
