| Like the rest of the Leven Valley Communities Staveley has Viking and Roman beginnings. Today it is a picturesque settlement almost hiding under its own bushel from the eyes of the traveller who could easily pass it by without even knowing of its existence save for the small signposts on the main roads to Barrow and the Lakes tourist spots. | [image] |
