Leven Valley Church of England Primary School

Leven Valley school is beautifully situated at the foot of Haverthwaite Heights, between the old railway track and the River Leven. Close to the Whitewater Hotel which was previously the "Blue Works", it is part of a small community which has an interesting historical and geographical background. The school itself stands in spacious grounds against woodlands and natural countryside which is a source of enrichment for many curriculum activities throughout the year.

School Catchment Area

Whilst the children come from quite a wide catchment area and may travel into school by taxi or car, there is nevertheless a strong family feeling within the school and the children enjoy a happy, secure environment in which they are valued as individuals. The school is a Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary School for boys and girls from 4 to 11 years.
The school's catchment area encompasses the parishes of Colton, Finsthwaite, Field Broughton, Staveley in Cartmel, Haverthwaite and Cartmel Fell.

School Ethos

The ethos of Leven Valley School is that of a Christian family, based around caring and sharing. At the heart of the school's philosophy is the aim to create a leaning environment that allows the children to develop confidence, independence and flexibility.
The school aims to provide a community, which, in partnership with the home, parish and wider world fosters the emotional, social, moral, physical and intellectual development of children.
As a Church of England School, we stress the basic principles of Christian values. Children are encouraged to develop valued and respectful relationships and to consider other people in all their interactions.
