Chairman, Mr. Tony Woodburn of Barber Green;
Parish Councillors; Mr. Paul Coward (Barber Green), (Staveley in Cartmel), Mr. John Wren ( Newby Bridge), Mr. John Addison (Seatle) and Mr Malcolm Slee of Canny Hill has recently been co-opted on to the council following the sad death of Marion Cannon.

There are normally five Meetings of the Parish Council each year.
 
Three of the Councillors are also Trustees of a small ancient Trust for the benefit of local people including students. The other two Trustees are the Vicar of St. Mary's Church, Staveley in Cartmel and a resident of that village. Representations in this regard can be made to the Clerk to the Trustees, Mr Peter Day.

Temporary road closure –Staveley in Cartmel
With effect from Monday, 8th May, 2006 Church Lane (U 5223) will be closed to enable the laying of underground electricity cables. The work will take approximately 10 weeks. Diversions will be in force.

Village Notice Boards

Four replacement Notice Boards have been constructed and installed by Kevin Quine of Seatle, on the Council's behalf. Community groups are welcome to use these boards as space permits. Peter Day (Parish Clerk -30235)
